Problem
The desalination process in the wastewater treatment plant naturally produced sludge that needed to be removed from the facility.
Solution
Power Pack worked with a wastewater treatment plant engineering firm to design a solution that removed the sludge from the inside of the plant.
System
The sludge was transferred for a distance of about 50 feet by a specialized-designed belt conveyor that was formulated to withstand oil, heat, and grease. From there, the sludge traveled up a cleated incline belt conveyor onto a third conveyor that was elevated to dispense the sludge into strategically placed dumpsters. The system also allowed the operator to transfer sludge to one of two dumpsters depending on the current capacity.
