The current cycle time for drying printed screens was inconsistent and needed to be standardized. Additionally, the current system used excessive space in the factory.
Power Pack designed a system that met the business owner’s desire to improve both cycle times and ergonomics while also reducing the footprint of the overall operation.
The operation began by transferring print screens onto a small belt conveyor from the cleaning line to a fixture boot on the drying line. The screens indexed around a carousel where industrial fans mounted onto a conveyor unit provided intense drying. Sensors were installed to notify the conveyor when each incoming screen should be received and to determine when the carousel was at full capacity. The operator then pulled each fully dried screen from the carousel and loaded it onto a rack that was transported back to the beginning of the production line.
